Having been on the WEC podium twice this season, Vanthoor will be hoping to continue his streak at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He took class victory at the landmark race in 2018 alongside Christensen and Estre and was previously a Porsche factory IMSA driver.
A dream accomplished
Vanthoor’s Porsche journey began in GT racing, but he says he had been “dreaming of this opportunity to drive in Hypercars for a long time.
To be able to do that with Porsche is, I think, the best place you can be.” His sage advice to newcomers? "If you put in the effort and the work, things will come your way sooner or later.”
Going to Le Mans as the leader of the championship with such an amazing field... is huge.
